Rufus A. Reyes, age 58, of Lake Village passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Maria; 5 children, Frank Reyes, Rick Reyes, Julie (Matt) Wonnacott, Andy Reyes, and Ashley Reyes; 4 grandchildren, Ava, Juliana, Benjamin, and Bella; sister, Mary Reyes; and godmother, Maria Reyes-Montano. Preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Julia Reyes.
Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 2 to 8 pm at Burdan Funeral Home 12901 Wicker Ave (corner of Rt 41 & 129th Ave) Cedar Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 12:00 pm Directly at St. Augusta Catholic Church, Lake Village. Burial will follow at Lake Village Cemetery.
Rufus was flower grower in Lake Village for over 40 years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed working the farmer's markets. Rufus was a hard working man who loved people and socializing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
