Robert J. Kalemba, age 76, of Lowell passed away November 28, 2016. He is survived by his cousin, Charlotte Becker, godson, Mark Mysliwiec, and loving "nephews" Shawn, Mason, Brett and Trace Burdan.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 3 pm to 7 pm at Burdan Funeral Home, 12901 Wicker Ave. (corner of US 41 and 129th Ave.) Cedar Lake, IN 46303. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10 am DIRECTLY at St. Edwards Catholic Church, 216 S. Nichols St., Lowell, IN 46356. Interment to follow at St. Edwards Cemetery.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Lowell, arriving there at six weeks of age. He was a lifelong member of St. Edwards Parrish, and a member of the Indian Trail Grange in Lowell. Bob served as the Republican Precinct Chairman in Shelby for 22 years, the Lake County Young Republican Chairman for 3 years, and South Lake County Republican Vice Chairman for 8 years. Bob began his career in banking, and went on to own the Toggery men's clothing store and Annex ladies shoe store in Lowell. He later became the auditor for Jenny Craig Weight Loss Centers and was last employed at Burdan Funeral Home for 16 years. Bob's warm smiles and hugs were always a comfort to those he knew, and he will be missed by all who loved him.
