Merritt O. Coffin, age 92, of Cedar Lake passed away Monday, January 22, 2018. He is survived by his children, Dian Goff, Larry (Sue) Coffin, and Pam (Chuck) Kouder; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and sister, Mylene Hollar. Preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou; son, Terry (Jackie) Coffin; granddaughter, Stephanie Goff; and great-granddaughter, Kaylie Goff.
Friends may meet with the family on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 3 to 8 pm at Burdan Funeral Home 12901 Wicker Ave, Cedar Lake, IN. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:30 am at Southlake Christian Church 501 Pratt St, Crown Point, IN., with Pastor Perry McLemore officiating.
Merritt was the former owner of Coffin Shady Beach Resort and C.L. Vending both in Cedar Lake. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
