Marilyn Veselak, age 85, of Cedar Lake, formerly of St. John, IN passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017. She was born on February 25, 1932 to the late Thomas R. Ross and Elsie (Hively) Ross. Marilyn was a graduate of Morocco High School. She married Robert V. Veselak on November 4, 1954, and he preceded her in death on May 9, 1998. Marilyn was employed by Farm Bureau Insurance for many years before her retirement in the late 1990's. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Stacey A. (Devory) Previs and Kelly L. (Joe) Heckman; grandchildren Annie (Rich Dobin) Previs, Luke and Spencer Previs, and Katie and Jacob Koile; sisters Marjorie (Wes) Jenkins and Karen Ross; brothers David and Robert Ross; sister-in-law Betty Pilot; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father John Ross; brother Timothy Ross and infant brother Ronald Ross.

Friends may greet the family on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 12 pm to 3 pm at Burdan Funeral Home, 12901 Wicker Ave. (corner of US41 and 129th Ave.), Cedar Lake. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 2:30 pm at Burdan Funeral Home Chapel, Fr. Ed Tlucek OFM, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Champion Tributes made in Marilyn's honor by calling 800-272-3900.
