Leslie A. Fleming, 70, of Maricopa, AZ, formerly of Cedar Lake, IN passed away at home surrounded by his family on November 24, 2018. Les is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Karen (Leonard) Fleming, daughter, Jen (Bret) Workman of Maricopa, AZ, son, James (Jennifer) Fleming of Cedar Lake, IN, 5 grandchildren, and was looking forward to his 6th grandchild due in June. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Charles Harness, of Cedar Lake, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie O. and Mary Fleming, sister, Pamala (Fleming) Hopp and brother-in-law Jim Hopp.

Friends may meet with the family on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 2 to 5 pm at Burdan Funeral Home 12901 Wicker Ave, Cedar Lake, IN. A service will be held at 4:30 pm with Pastor Brian Powers, officiating.

Les was born on March 23, 1948. He grew up in Crown Point, IN and graduated from CPHS in 1966. He married Karen Leonard on July 15, 1972 in Crown Point, IN. Les was a sheet metal worker with Local 20 for 25 years. Despite his deficits from a severe stroke in 2000, Les was always upbeat. He was known for his friendly and beautiful smile.
He enjoyed traveling, sightseeing, long rides on his scooter and playing computer solitaire. Les was a dedicated husband and father. He especially loved his role as Papa.
He will be in our hearts forever, and he will be greatly missed by many family and friends.
