Jimmie D. Martin, age 80, of Cedar Lake passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016. He is survived by his son, Duane Martin; daughter, Dana Hammons; 5 grandchildren, Bryan, Andy, Blake, Alec and Karrah; great-grandson, William; brother, Bobbie (Glenda) Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen.
Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Burdan Funeral Home 12901 Wicker Ave (corner of Rt 41 & 129th Ave) Cedar Lake. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm in the Burdan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow at German Methodist Cemetery, Cedar Lake.
Jimmie was retired from LTV Steel. He loved music, playing the piano, and singing and was the Music Director for the 1st Baptist Church of Cedar Lake for many years. Jimmie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
