Evylene "Evie" Shanks Obituary

Evylene "Evie" M. Shanks, age 77, of Cedar Lake passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, William; 2 sons, Michael (Patsy) Shanks and Carl Shanks; 2 grandchildren, Andy and Megan Shanks; 2 brothers, James and Jim Rubin; and sister, Judy Newcomer.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 2, 2012 at 10:00 am at Burdan Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Lantz officiating. Burial will follow at German Methodist Cemetery, Cedar Lake. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 2 to 5 pm at Burdan Funeral Home 12901 Wicker Ave (corner of Rt 41 & 129th Ave) Cedar Lake.
Evie was retired from the Cedar Lake Post Office with over 25 years of loyal service. She loved her flowers and decorating for every holiday. She was an avid Chicago sports fan especially the Chicago Bears. Evie loved her dogs and her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
