Carl B. Zygmunt, age 71, of Crown Point, passed away on July 13, 2019. He was born in Gary and spent his childhood days there. Carl graduated from Andrean High School and Indiana University. In 1970, he started his career in Social Work and was employed by the Lake County Department of Child Services for 38 years.

Carl had a keen wit and a great sense of humor. He welcomed intellectual conversations and was an avid reader; one of his favorite destinations was the local library. Carl greatly enjoyed music and liked talking about the many concerts he attended in the 1960's and 70's.

Carl will be missed by the love of his life, Carol Kleine, his life partner of 27 years, as well as those who knew him well.

Friends may gather for a time of visitation and celebration of Carl's life on Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 1 pm to 4 pm at BURDAN FUNERAL HOME, 12901 Wicker Ave., Cedar Lake. A memorial service will take place on Saturday at 3 pm, Father George Glueckert, officiating.
