Jeff was a kind and one of the most thoughtful gentleman I have ever know. May God rest his soul and provide comfort to his remaining family and friends.

Great guy, can only see him with a smile and good word to say to all. Glad I got to see Jeff and spend an afternoon with him weeks ago when he had an appetite. Burned in my memory is his great perspectives against all odds that life threw at him! We had the funeral and memorial that HE planned..Thanks Old Man!!

My deepest condolences to Jeff's family & friends. Did not see age or high school info; is this Jeff who went to Merrillville Jr High and would have graduated around 1974-1975?

Jeff and I met during our first few days as Freshman at IU and became best friends all through our college years. I nick named Jeff the "Old Man" and he called me "Punky" and the names stuck. We had many laughs and stayed in touch after graduation. Never forget the day Jeff called me from the Harbor in Chicago while I was working at my trading desk for Morgan Stanley. It had been a number of years since we had seen each other and I was so glad he tracked me down in Chicago. I started laughing like our college days when he shared some of his sailing stories off the Chicago lake shore including when he grounded his boat on the breakwater at the Harbor one evening and the Coast Guard "recue" that followed. Jeff, rest in peace my friend. We knew it was going to be fun from the start of our friendship. Knowing you helped me become a better person.

Dear Tim, Peggy and Johnny,
You and your beloved Jeff were in our family's prayers at least twice per day since the beginning of his illness. What a blessing that Johnny had such a special uncle in his life! We now pray that all the happy memories of good times shared with Jeff will be comforting to you through the years to come.

Jeff was always a happy go lucky kinda guy! I always looked up to hI'm as my older brother, since we grew up next door to each other. The Sims family was our second family! Jeff will be very missed, expecially at all of the Lowell Labor Day parades running out into the parade shaking hands with all of the people he knew in the parade! We used to tease Jeff that he should have been the parades "Grand Marshal!" Rest peacefully dear friend and may your memory be eternal!
